Before you use Peak, you must first configure your system’s inputs and outputs with the Sound Control Panel. The Sound Control Panel controls the Macintosh Sound Manager and the inputs and outputs of your Macintosh.
Your exact setup will differ depending on the input device that you are using with Peak. You can use either the built-in audio input and outputs of your Macintosh, or if you own a plug-in expansion card such as Digidesign’s Audiomedia II, the input and outputs on this card.
Choose the device you wish to playback audio through in Peak’s Sound Out submenu under the Audio menu.
The Sound Control Panel is not always automatically installed by the Apple System installers. If you are using OS 8.0 or later, you will have to drag the Sound Control Panel out of the “Apple Extras” folder and into the Control Panels folder in your System Folder. Apple’s “Monitors and Sound” Control Panel will not allow you to select audio inputs and outputs for third party audio cards.
If you are using DAE, refer to your Peak manual for more details on how to configure DAE for use with Peak.
